error on screen and locked phone

I got a 7100 nextel from my sister. The phone was locked and she did not know the password. Tried to put in random passwords in the hopes that it would let me eventually put in a password but that did not happen. So I pulled the battery, now there is an error message on the screen. It has the circle with a slash through it with three symbols in it, a circle square and triangle. Outside of that the number 507 is the bottome of the circle with the slash trough it. any ideas how how to fix it and get it unlocked?

Error code 507 means you will need to reinstall the operating system. That is a couple of steps: download and install desktop manager, download and install an operationg system for your BB, then connect your BB to your computer and open the desktop manager and use that to install the operating system.

There are plenty of deatiled instructions for this in the BB 101 thread. It will take about 45 minutes to complete this.
