well, on a 7100i you just go to to options -> Bluetooth. on mine, I had to go into options and set those before enabling bluetooth. And of course, then pair the two

Default new to all this stuff

i just aquired a used nextel 7100i the phone works fine but what i did was take the sim out of my company's nextel 710 and put into the 7100. the questions are how do i activate and use my sms or activate the online features or even use the text parts of the phone? is it even possible? i know i would get access to cnn and other standard messeges through the phone when the chip was in the 710, butare any of things still accessible on the 7100i?. is anything else i can do with it?
i'm new here so please be gentle and explain in laymans terms all the good and bad.
thanx

Sounds to me like you need to get ahold of Nextel and possibly get them to order an unlock code from BB. I had to do that on my 7100g I just picked up at a yardsale of all places. Took a couple of days to get BB to respond and send me the e-mail with the code. Works like a champ.

Default "no data service" msg

I don't think that msg has anything to do with bluetooth since I get the same "no data service" msg no matter if my bluetooth interface is on or off.

I don't subscribe to AT&T MediaNet so I'm guessing the msg refers to that data network.

Anyone know what the "no data service" refers to?

I sell Sprint Nextel. I have the 7100i. Sprint requires their Blackberry's to have the BB data plan, which is unGoshly expensive! If you don't subscribe to the data plans most of the features of the phone will not work.

"No Data Service" means either you're out of data coverage or you don't have a bona fide Blackberry data plan. No email, no web browsing, and no BB Messenger.

I just got a 7105t unlocked for free by T-Mobile (I have a TMo line active) and I'm using it with AT&T. No problems. Works great!

You need to get it unlocked to use with AT&T. HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, The World’s Cellular Repair Center ß is a preferred vendor of unlock codes. If you know someone with a T-Mobile account you could ask them to call T-Mo support and request the code for free. Usually takes them less than 24 hours to get the code to you.
