What OS7 build sports the best battery life?
So I was one of the first people in line two days ago to get the 9900 from Rogers, I forget/don't have the specific device with my anymore, so I don't recall the OS build, but it was the same as whatever the stock OS is.
Long story, and I mean 'long' story short; the battery life did not perform well on that build at all. I tried it out for a day and was unimpressed, by 5pm the device had dropped to 20% after being pulled off a fresh charge at 10am. I had all my apps set to not fetch data automatically, brightness down, etc, etc.
The same night, my girlfriend picked up a 9900 from Virgin Mobile, her device was running 7.0.0.261 (1355). Her Berry lasted the full day, when she got home at 11pm after leaving for work at 6am, she had a good 50% left. Our usage for the time period wasn't too different, give or take 20 emails.
I returned the Rogers 9900 and got a TELUS 9900 this morning, it's running 7.0.0.261 (1446) and it seems to be out-living the Rogers build by a small but noticeable amount.
So I put the question forth to the CrackBerry nation, from everyone's testing and experiences, what build has the best battery performance? - 08-12-2011, 09:37 PM #2
I have to agree with this. The build Rogers is using must be a lot worse for battery life than the others or I would think we would see more complaints here...
I used my fully charged 9900 on and off from 7AM - 12 PM (Not high usage as I was mostly driving), and when I did use it, it was to send a few text messages. By 12 PM I was at 55%. Left it for the afternoon and checked it once every hour or so, and now am sitting at 15%.
Surprised at this... will probably install another carrier's build to see if there are any differences. - 08-12-2011, 10:17 PM

Yeah - that's basically how my day went as well.
I might try Virgin's 7.0.0.261 (1355) tomorrow.. - 08-13-2011, 12:00 AM #4
Running on Rogers 7.0.0 bundle 1346 and I don't have much issue with battery life yet. Been using wireless and bluetooth setting everything up with the playbook and other devices and just bought the phone this afternoon so it hasn't had a full charge yet.
Still at 55 percent.
