Nothing about an upgarde for OS7

The event is over without even a single mention of an update for 7.1 like maybe 7.2 or so. What's it?? OS 7 officially dumped??

Well bearing in mind the launch event was to do with the new Blackberry 10 why would they want to mention what technically now is an old system.

Don't get me wrong it would be nice to know if an update would be made so some services work, but let's not forget that they also didn't mention the playbook

I imagine if they continued support for OS 7, it would have delayed and tied up resources for BB10. Just like how they don't continue development for OS 4, 5, and 6 anymore. RIP OS 7...

I assume there will continue to be a few minor updates here and there for fixes and the like but I am not sure OS 7 will get a substantial upgrade. At this point it is a pretty stable and mature OS. They have said they will continue to support it so I don't think it has been dumped just yet. I just don't think it will be seeing any major updates.

OS 7 isn't dead yet. They need to keep it around for their "budget" devices. I suppose we will still see security, and maintenance updates. I doubt any new features will get added though.
