Default FM radio missing from the upgraded OS

I am using bold 9900 and have upgraded my phone to the latest OS i.e 7.1.0.714
The problem actually is that if you have a look at the Blackberry website there in the software section inside OS 7 they tell you about new features included in the software which also includes FM radio

whereas I in my updated software do not have any kind of radio icon

the 9900 does not have fm radio...but there are apps that can give you FM content....only some of the curve models have the FM radio....try the TuneIn Radio app....

I know the 9900 does not come with a built in radio but what about BB's proclamation of the inclusion of radio in OS 7.1 update ?

It's the 9930 that has FM radio support. The 9900 is HSPA+, and the 9930 is the older CDMA, but the 9900's chipset doesn't actually have FM radio.

I know it's confusing, and I wish BB had made it clearer on their website because I was puzzled by it too.

As much as I like Nobex, let's be fair and admit that not everyone wants to stream music on their data plan. If I could do FM radio on my 9900 I actually would use it occasionally.

FM Radio is for 9220/9320 and is not available for 9900
