No, OS 7 will not be made available for OS6 or OS5 devices. However, some hybrid builders will like take the cod files and extract some files from OS7 builds and make a hybrid for the 9780 that you can install. There are some available now that feature some OS7 programs. Check it out in the hybrids section, but make sure you follow the instructions carefully.

No, but hybrids do the trick. .600 was terrible for my phone. I got hourglassing all the time and it screwed up my media player on the phone too.

    I'm using MaxHybridŽ V10.5 Bold [9780] (.650 Full Java)

It is a bit of a pain to install the BBM portion, but it is smooth as butter once you got it running.

some say that MaxHybrids mess up the internal registry of the BB to such an extent that it just refuses to load normal RIM released OS at a later date.

I ain't sure abt this but if it does, it is jus' crazy ! Its like dumping your device into the trash ...

I don't think there are too many more changes that are coming to OS6 for the 9780. With that said, I won't be upgrading the OS again on this phone before I upgrade. It runs smooth as butter right now and there is no reason to upgrade.
