Default Bold 9900 OS7 QR code scanner

I just realized something... the QR code scanner in the BBM no longer can be used to scan other items. This is stupid because RIM should include a native QR scanner in my opinion.

Do you know any good QR code scanners that works with Bold 9900 OS7. I am looking for a free one because I am not going to use it a lot anyway.

I can't really speak for the QR Code apps but scanning a bbm qr code with a 9900 works very fast, much faster then my 9700 could do it, I think it uses the videocamera instead of the camera.

Did you actually try it or did you just assume it won't work? It works fine for me, I scanned bbm QRs from a 8800 and a 9700 and it works without fail, always on first try and it's very fast.

Interesting question. Why just yesterday afternoon someone else had a similar question/thought.

I just use the one in App World.

I downloaded "simple scanner" from BlackBerry Appworld. Work fine so far. Free. Does QR and Product codes.

I scanned the crackberry app store bar code. The phone beeps then exit itself out of the BBM scanner and nothing happens.

    Thanks.

Thanks... but it takes a lot of resources to load app world java files. BBM is always in the background making it easy to load every time.

The scanner in bbm is only for adding new bbm contacts, not for apps. Try scanning a bbm barcode.
