I'm a new user transition from BBos5 to BBos7.The one thing that is really letting me down, is how BBos7 behaves when searching on home screen. I used to find it one of the best features of BBos5 when you could just type someones name and have it appear instantly like so.



Now on BBos7, the search from homescreen looks so weird. Even if you deselect every search feature except contacts it still doesn't feel as neat and helpful.
I really hope there's a way to make it appear as it was before, that i just haven't found yet!



Is there any way to make it appear like before?

press the dial in button and you will find it as before

When I search for a contact from the home screen, I still get my contacts coming up. Not sure why yours isn't working. If I just type "work" my work contact shows up.

Yes i found out later, that this is what i have to do, but still, why press one more button, and not do it directly like before? Is there no way to set it as it was on BB05?

my 9790 os 7.1 show also contacts when i press any buttons from home!

It works just as the one in os5, when you type a contact, a picture with a name of the contact will appear in the search results
