It depends on who your carrier is. DM will only find and download the most current OS that your carrier has approved. I think most carriers are running OS 6 on the 9300 now. AT&T does, and if AT&T is running it, you would think everyone else is too.
However, if your carrier is not up to OS 6 yet, then your options are limited being on a Mac. Unless you can run Windows emulation, you can't download an OS from another carrier and install it outside of DM.
Either way, go ahead and start up the phone first as it may have to register itself with the mobile network. Just to be sure it all works. Then hook up to DM to see if an update is available from the carrier. Although you just may have 6 already.
