CDMA BlackBerry devices require 512MB of RAM to run BlackBerry 6. It doesn't have it. The 9330 does, which is why it gets it despite being pretty much the same device.
oh okay that makes sense, also i read something that said bb curve 8530 wont have enough space on the phone for bb os 6 , but why cant we just put a memory card with enough space on it for bb os 6 , cause i would like the most recent update for my bb but if i cant get os 6 then its okay its not the end of the world

No, the 85XX line will NOT receive OS6.
This is why RIM created the 93XX Curve line, those devices will get OS6.
The 85XX line doesn't have a strong enough processor, period.Perhaps life is just that...a dream and a fear.

I will make it clear for everyone.
The GSM devices that are high end(with 256 ram) can survive the 6.0 carnage because they have a processor that is clocked at 624 MHz. (9700, 9100, 9300)
The CDMA Devices cannot accept the 624 MHz processor so they use a Qualcom chip that is clocked at 500 Mhz( which estimation to my knowledge) (9650 and 9330)
The 8530 would be able to if It had a faster processor and higher ram.

BB Curve 8530 processor and RAM upgrade
Has anyone attempted a processor and RAM upgrade of the Curve 8530? Would such an upgrade even be possible with the standard battery power output? I am curious because I have all I need on my 8530, but would enjoy more processor speed. This would probably be a silly and expensive undertaking, but I am still interested to know.

Hmmm interesting thread. I guess you guys are forgetting something. Look at OS5 and then compare it with OS6... or even better, compare OS5 OS6 and OS7... yeap, you got it, graphical performance. Os 5 had no graphical fluidity... os 6 has it and new devices with os7 are even more smooth... I dont know about hardware but i guess blackberry's dont have a gpu so this is all processor based... Slow processor -> not enough graphical power for the os... And of course memory. With a shrunk, hybrid os in my 9300 i still get error messages while browsing and i always try to have the less amount of apps intaled...
