OS6 leak timeframe
What do you all think the chances are that we will see the OS6 that vzn was testing at some point as a leak? And how soon? To my knowledge, only vzn was testing 6 on the 9550 so the leak has to come from somebody over there.

I'm not being paid to think.

Yeah it will most likely leak but like he said above me probably from another carrier and probably around the time that the others are out.

Considering VZW actually tested it, it has to fit, and you know they didn't shrink the **** out of it, like all of us here would. I wouldn't be surprised if we could shrink it down to 200MB or slightly under that if we do get a leak. I would bet even less, like 180MB. Just my guess. Just going by OS 5, there is anywhere from 50-100MB of useless stuff that gets removed or not installed, easily. I doubt much changed.
I wouldn't be surprised if even though VZW didn't think OS6 ran well enough on the current S2, once we shrink it down, it would then run "ok". Still probably not quite as smooth as OS 5.
I don't really care, i just want webkit. ****, I'd prefer OS5 with webkit added. I don't really like the UI on OS 6. Added functions look neat though.HTC Titan - WP Mango

At this point, don't count on a leak. It was left off the press release for a reason and while I would like to see BB6 for the S2 just like the rest of you, it's best for us to give up the hope that we'll see it. Is there a BB6 for the Storm2? Yes. Is Verizon the only carrier to test it? Probably not, but the person who reported that info only gets info from American carriers. Will we see a leak or an official version of BB6? I'm no longer holding hope (which, for those who know me, you know that if I'm not being optimistic, there's probably a reason for that). There is a slim chance we may see a leak, but I wouldn't count on it and even if there is, we might not want to install it.

There are at least 13 carriers that i know of that carry the storm 2 9550. I believe there are a couple more too but these i know for sure. Someone will leak it, it just a matter of time. I don't think that this is any different than OS5 not being able to run on 128mb devices but it was leaked for most 128mb devices. Some even official releases. It also ran very well for most, at least i ran great on my 8330 when i had that

Actually, Iusacell does not carry the 9550, no carrier does here in Mexico. They do however carri the 9530 and they sell as if it were the newest thing from RIM.
Iusacell never works on upgrades on any of their devices so even if they did carry the 9550 I would deffenetly not expect anything from them.

I think we WILL see a leak, and possibly even an official version, as someone pointed out there ARE many vendors out there.
HOWEVER that does not mean that it will be a good idea to put 6.0 on your S2, there's probably a VERY good reason they stopped testing it. Have you ever tried 4.5 on an 87xx? Many vendors released it, sprint did, but Verizon decided not too, but you could always use the sprint version. I put the sprint version on my 8703, and I know why Verizon choose not to release it.

Not greedy, no need a full OS6.
All I want and optional is stated here.
1. Webkit browser (must)
2. Better media player (opt)
3. Better picture viewer (opt)
4. Better camera software function (opt)
5. OS6 alike basic front page home theme (opt)

I'm with you on all the points, especially WebKit. I'm still hoping we'll get a 5.2 or some abandoned build. Even if it's "6.0 lite" which I assume is early 5.2 builds....I just want that damn browser. And making things like pictures more responsive (****, I can live without pinch to zoom!). I hope another carrier releases it, I want to load it, but I'm not holding my breath...
My BlackBerry history is sad, but a work in progress!
