With the word database deleted, exit the delete data screen and go to device -> restore. Pick your backup to use and then choose "select device data and settings" in the bottom of the window. In the list that appears, check the boxes for both "AutoText" and "AutoText Data Version" and restore them.

"Auto Text" is grayed out and cannot be checked.
