I sure wish WES was tomorrow...sigh. I work at a lot of conferences, unfortunately, this one is on the wrong side of the country. Otherwise, I'd be hiding under every booth trying to get sneak peeks!

Still looks garbage to me. Not impressed or really looking forward to RIM finally getting a decent browser. Thanks but no thanks.

Actually the iPhone has only a been out little less than 3 years. Even so the OS still isn't as stale as BBOS and ancient looking. But the BBOS still looks very much like the old OS from the 8300, 8800 and 8100 series. All they did was change the icons. Android and iPhone put RIM's OS to shame in looks and usability. iPhone has only been out since 2007 but blackberries have been around forever with little change in small increments and still failing in major areas. And long as I have to go through a bunch of menus to get things done and have crappy apps available I don't want any part of it.

Looks decent, much better than that atrocity I passed up playing MW2 to see BBleaks drop. Good thing RIM is biting off others to improve their products, now let's see what RIM changed for the underlying problems of the OS.

While physical keyboards hold little interest for me, I'll certainly be curious to see the Slider. My concern is, it will be too thick. The S3 they're talking about, is supposed to be as thin (if not a bit thinner according to some reports) as the iPhone.
As to delays by Bell, isn't that a Carrier issue, rather than a RIM issue?

I agree, though I'm certain those things are happening independently of each other. Personally, I like CB's/Mobi's app store, works just fine for me. Yep, you'd think BB's App World would be better, but it matters little to me, I've only used it to get BBM and, I think, Google's Search App.

RIM cobbled App World together as a me too offering, isn't installed on every device AND can't be used by devices that aren't on a data plan (really stupid since there are quite a few BB out there just SOL).
Right now RIM is banking on BlackBerry Widgets for app development since it uses web languages (like WebOS) but can still call hardware functions just like a natively written Java app.

I'll assume you don't use facebook that often? Facebook for BB crushes the browser version. Calendar events, birthdays, higher res photos, native uploads, notifications (I'm not a fan of relentless email notifications) and contact sync to boot for great device integration. All it needs is chat/flash apps and there would literally be zero reason to touch the desktop version.

Isn't it amusing how people who claim to not enjoy CB at all simply can't stay away????
It's because it's CRACKBERRY, the BEST BB site....

I hope pinch to zoom is an option. Click zooming (S2) is much easier with one hand. I hate pinch zoom.

True, and devildrifter's correct in assuming I don't use Facebook too often. Simply put, having apps that sit on the phone and only get used once a week or so bothers me.
The point is, I'd much rather have RIM have the new browser as their top priority, followed by OS6. I wouldn't be surprised if there's still a ton of glitches to be ironed out, and the last thing I want them doing is working on any more "super apps", although it obviously takes far less man hours to code a Twitter app than a whole new browser.
