Short of asking my wife to change her name, how can I get rid of this stupidity? | There are two ways that you can fix this problem. The first and quickest is by going into your Messages folder > Options > Message Display and Actions, then scroll down to Show Recent Contacts When Composing Email. Take the check mark out of the box next to that option. The name of that old vendor will not populate anymore, only those contacts in your address book will.
The second way to fix this issue is through the Blackberry Desktop Software. Connect your BB to a computer on which you have the BDS installed. Click on Device > Delete Data... In the next window that opens, click where it says Selected Data. In the box below that scroll down to Recent Contacts, check that box, make sure no other options in there are checked. Below that box is an option to do a backup before deleting, I recommend that. Click Delete at the bottom and all of the recent contact entries that your BB has been storing will be gone leaving only those in your address book. Hope this helps, it's a lot easier than getting your wife to change her name. |
