Can't configure email on 9700 with OS6

I just bought a (used) 9700 with OS5, connected it to the computer and desktop manager informed me of an available update to OS6, which I did. I then imported all my data from my previous 8520.

Everything worked fine, my two configured email accounts moved to my new device and all was good but... then I wanted to setup a new mail account and couldn't. Whenever I go into Setup and click on Email Accounts nothing happens, literally.

What I did was call my carrier to configure the account through their site and so we did, the email account now appears on my home screen but... it won't sync and, on their site, it says I need to authenticate the account before I get any update, the thing is that, like I said before, I can't open "Email Accounts" on the setup.

I need not only to configure the email account but also the CICAL associated with that email account.

visit your carrier.they should authenticate in store.and its better they do it on the spot for you instead of online.

I kept on testing the configuration and realized that the account is actually syncing, but only for new mail so this is actually not a problem.

The only problem I'm now left with is the fact that the calendars ain't syncing (only one of the two previous accounts, and the new one have calendars) event though the CICAL service exists for both accounts in service book.

Is there anything else I need to configure to be able to sync the calendars?

P.S. One of the accounts is a native gmail account and the other one is a custom domain but managed with Google Apps, so I'm using Google Calendar for both.
