Default 9650 OS6 interesting fonts finding

A few days ago I got a replacement 9650 from Verizon that has OS6 installed and found a problem that BB tech couldn't figure out. Maybe someone here can.

The problem I found is if on the main screen, I scroll to the top box (date, time...) & highlight it then click on it, it gives a drop down box with manage connections, alarm, and set up services and options. This is all normal. The problem I had was if I scrolled down past the alarm box, the highlight goes away and won't come back..... not allowing any of the boxes to be chosen.

BB service didn't know what to do, so they sent me another phone.

With the new phone the first thing I did was check the function of the drop down box and it worked as it should......... all good. I then proceeded to back-up & restore this new phone. When I did, the problem came back on the new phone.

To make a long story short, I found that something in the options restoration was causing the problem. I have since narrowed it down to the display font option. If I set the display font for 10 or better then the problem comes back.
I can make the problem come and go by changing the font size. (sometimes it takes a reboot for the problem to go away).

I really want the larger font, and will probably use it while it still causes the problem, but a fix would be great.

    Sorry for the LONG post...........

Sorry I can not replicate it. so yes it could be something with the restore converting the "Font" But doing it manually as I mentioned it does what it should do.

    John,
I was able to get to a Verizon store yesterday and was able to replicate this "problem" on two of their display phones. I showed it to the sales person and she also was able to see it on her phone. You probably have something a little different (who knows).
It's not a big deal, however it is a glitch that originally bugged me. Didn't know if I had a defective phone or OS download. But when I found the cause I just wanted to get the info out there.
