For those of you looking for a better theme than "I Dream of 6", take a look at the updated version.
Scrolling icons on the home page bring up three categories, "Favorites", "All", and "Apps" which allows for a total of 18 icons on your home page (6 each).
Icons and menus have been updated, as well as the jumbled service/date information on the home page.
I would definitely look into this theme, I highly recommend it. - 05-15-2010, 08:35 AM #54[shabbs]

Take your pick...
Latest official is v5.0.0.592 (sticked at the top of this forum): http://forums.crackberry.com/f100/ne...hellas-450132/
Latest leak is OS v5.0.0.681: http://forums.crackberry.com/f95/lea...-681-a-468810/
Personally, I'd recommend a Willyboy Hybrid... v4.4 is the latest public release...

What's the difference between a regular 5.0 update and willyboy's hybrid version? I just updated to 5.0.0.592 and it is awesome! I've just realised as I am typing this post that it has text wrapping, I have been waiting forever for text wrapping xD

Well from what I have seen, 6.0 is really NOT all that jazzy! 4.6-5.0 was a big leap but not ground breaking! This seems to be the same. For BBOS it is great, but for the new options available to us with Android, I think that 1.2 years from now when Upgrade time rolls around, Blackbery May be on the cutting room floor. BB 6.0 just seems BLah compared to HTC and Android units. Not to mention the fact as soon as i got my 8900 (3mos) it was superseded by the 9700!!! can you say kick in the nuts?
Do not get me wrong, I have Loved my blackberry's since my 8100 without data, to my 8900 with full support, but being told that I may not be able to upgrade my less than a year old (at this point) 8900 really REALLY makes me upset....**** t-mobile does not even offer this phone any longer GRRRR!!! So unless Rim really does something AMAZING with the new slider 9800 and 6.0.........im going to abandon the Rim Ship. - 06-18-2010, 10:57 AM #65

I'm sure it won't make it to the 8900 officially. Unofficially, my guess is some modifications will most likely have to be made for a smooth(er) experience. I guess we'll find out once OS6 comes out.
iPhone 4S - 5.0.1
BlackBerry Torch 9800 - 6.0.0.600
BlackBerry Curve 8900 - 5.0.0.461
BlackBerry PlayBook - 1.0.8.6067 - 06-28-2010, 03:42 PM #68
Well,My 8900 has now Been Set as the Back-up phone and its 16gb heart has been transplanted in to my new Htc Mytouch Slider 3g!!! and I am NOT looking back, HOLY COW! Android(in my case ANDROID with htc sense) is hands down the best combo, It is a Blackberry AND iPhone KILLER I can do way more with contacts and e-mail than blackberry EVER could! I got the blackberry for my business and this new phone honestly Does it better! It has a slide out keyboard, and touch screen! it works flawless! Unless Blackberry which we know is more of an Enterprise/Business Hand held gets on this bandwagon, they will slowly loose the market share they have worked soo hard to grasp! Time to take it up a notch Blackberry, I would LOVE to return to a RIM product! but as i mentioned above the lackluster handsets and the quite disappointing showing of 6.0 and lack of "older" hand held support.......Is just not how to keep up with the Jones'.

so are we getting 6 or not?
- 07-10-2010, 03:40 PM #70
According to RIM we are NOT
- 07-10-2010, 03:45 PM #71
Wouldn't we get 5, officialy, before 6? Or could it be possible to jump ahead 6 without stopping at 5 first?

What would happen if I installed os6 on my 8900? Would it work? Would it brick it? Would it just be slow?
- 08-11-2010, 10:53 PM #74
It wouldn't work. The best hope for OS6 on the 8900 is some sort of port from an OS for another device to another, or most likely, a hybrid install.
