Would it be possible to have the same 5 row home screen on a Z10 as the Z30 has? It couldn't be the resolution of the screen since the Z10 as a higher resolution. I know Icons get smaller, but i would not care.

    Actually it does.

    Not much higher, but higher (1280 X 768 vs 1280 X 720)

You're only talking 24 extra pixels on each side. The height of the pixels is the same, yet they were able to shrink the icons down just enough to fit a fifth row within that height.

It could be done, but the icons would be slightly smaller than what we have now on the Z10.

Like a said, smaller icons wouldn't be a problem for me. So BlackBerry if you are listening, make a setting option to choose between 4 rows or 5 rows icons, like you should have done from the start

I didn't know they had different screen ratios.

BlackBerry wanted to standardize at 720 pixels wide for all devices. That's why the Qs are 720. The Z was already past development and in manufacturing long before that decision was made.

Plus, they wanted to go for a true 16x9 screen, which you get with 1280x720.

In practical terms, the difference is not all that great, really.
