Z10 does not reconnect to home wifi
Hello,
It's happened many times already. My Z10 is connected both to my home wifi and the cellular network when I leave the house. Upon my return home the Z10 does not automatically reconnect to my home network, it is looking for available networks, but does not find any. Only if I manually turn the wifi off and back on will it find my home networks, and those of my neighbors.
Anybody else has the same issue?
Thank you,

I have the same issue.
what route do you two have, is it one of the modems from your ISP that has built in wifi? - 02-12-2013, 08:30 AM #4
I am using a Rogers provided modem with built in WiFi and I have no problems reconnecting to my home network when I get home. I have a D-Link router with WiFi at work and I have no issues connecting to it when I get to the office in the morning. Is it possible that its something in your settings?

Is your modem the one with holes all over it, by any chance? If that is the one, then it's the modem, not the phone. My Nexus 4 did the exact same thing for no apparent reasons. It also would randomly disconnect over night, and when I woke up, it would not be connected to wifi. I had to turn off and on wifi to get it to connect again. Oddly enough, I'm not having that issue with the Z10 with the same router, but my iPad also used to do the same thing and randomly started working normally, so I'd still blame the router, but I have no idea what caused it. I remember playing around with channels, bands, etc. Nothing helped. I ended up buying another router to use...

My Z10 and PlayBook both maintain a rock solid connection with my D-Link router. Haven't had one issue.

People need to watch how they title their threads.. later today there's likely going to be an editorial on BGR or some other site that trolls crackberry for it's content in big bold letters stating "Z10 DOES NOT CONNECT TO HOME WIFI!" When in actual fact nothing could be further from the truth.. YOU are having a problem with YOUR particular device not RE-connecting AUTOMATICALLY to YOUR router.. your title implies all z10's have an issue connecting to consumer wifi..

I updated my netgear router to the new firmware it was telling me was available. After that everything was disconnecting and I would have to shut off the router and turn it back on. Went back to the older firmware and no issues again.
Maybe yours has a firmware upgrade that works better?Sent from me using my fingers. Be pantless in 5K. Febreze - for more than smells.

While I understand your point, and with all due respect, I could not disagree more. Since when a thread title is indicative of a true fact? If anybody believes anything just from a title, then something is wrong. Whatever the title is, short of knowing the credibility of the one posting it, it's just a title for god' sake. For all I know, this is a forum where different things ca be discussed, and if issues can not simply be raised and discussed, without politically being correct, and double checking the language, in case, god forbid, somebody took a title literally, as opposed to reading the thread, then truely, this community is not for me. I understand there may be shareholders out there, that are a little nervous right now, but I own shares myself, love the product, but refuse to let paranoia take over me.
Sorry but I had to say it....who needs a defibrillator when you are carrying your PB at all times??!!
