Absolutely! I chose BB for it's OS amongst other things and if Android was important I would get an Android phone. Besides, the whole Android app/store thing hasn't worked out too well for me. No loss.

I would and I do. I have no need for any of the Android apps because there are BB10 apps for everything I need.

Don't bother me. All the apps like casca run, bebuzz, facebook, whatsapp, picshop and many games are native.

Yes, not one Android port I have on my Q10 I cant live without. I only need communications, doc editing and photo tools.

I was wondering this... had BB10 not been able to support Android apps would you still use them?

Sadly, this is a deal-breaker for me. I use a Q10 so gaming isn't a deal to me but the basic Banking, Social and Shopping apps are a part of my everyday life. I gave up my 9900 because, while I was in love with the software and hardware, it no longer was for me as I needed my phone to just do more. I then moved to the iPhone but got bored soooo quickly lol.

My Q10 is the perfect marriage between the two now so I am happy BlackBerry saw this is a must.
Yes I would. I only use a couple android apps. I've actually found the html5 mobile sites to be better for my banking than the android apps. But I don't have the need for depositing physical checks so that has an impact.

YES! I did use my Z10 for almost a year, and still had more apps than I could really use. BB10 is about communication and production, not navel gazing.

Just because you don't use doesn't mean you don't ever need it... the android runtime is meant to increase the amount of viable apps on the BB10 platform. Many of which are posted on BBW.

Yes, I would use my BlackBerry Q10 even if it didn't support Android apps.

APKs are a bonus but certainly not my main reason for using a BlackBerry.

I hardly use any Android applications. In fact the only one I've used in the past 3 months is the Kindel port from BBWorld. So yes I would still be using BB10 even if it didn't support Android at all.

The problem of not having the runtime is that we would have less native apps because of this. A Lot of developers would never consider making a native app if they couldn't test their android app on the BB10 platform.

I agree with you, of course. I was merely providing my personal position that I have used and would use BlackBerry 10 even without the capability to run Android apps.

    Why yes, of course!

I like the phone (it's about my journey with RIM), the OS and their future. They've fumbled a bit now and again and lots of company's have too. With Chen at the helm, in a post Thor error, BB is learning from it's mistakes and sharpening focus and answering the needs of their base (ever shrinking).

Small company, with a LOT OF BANG and vision of the future (for some things, but they are coming around to thinking "consumer too"). I don't use any Android apps at this time, but it's sure darn good that if I needed to, I could on "this" mobile communication platform. Indeed, it's the underdog, but I like 'em!

    Go BB!
