    Yeah, it could be a trojan horse, or it could not.

    The thing is, they have to execute. Personally I think what they should have done is already had iOS/Android apps ready for submission to the respective app stores when they made that announcement. But if they sit around and don't get apps ready for several months, all it does is reveal their strategy and give everyone else time to come up with competitive responses to it.

    I also think that it's way easier to roll out sophisticated features like video chat and screen-sharing when you control the entire OS and device ecosystem. It will be much more difficult getting those things working reliably on "foreign" platforms, especially with stuff like Android which all the vendors have their own idiosyncratic builds of on various devices.
