I know RIM said they were going to release 6 bb10 phones in 2013, with the z10 / x10 being the flagships (moreso the z10) does anyone know if they will be following a yearly refresh cycle? or will they be releasing additional flagships in q4 prior to the holiday season?

I wish Aristo is the flagship model and they unveil it on jan 30, and release it soon without much delays.

The odds are that they will release a new model prior to the holiday season at the end of the year since going forward you would expect them to want to get back onto a yearly upgrade cycle that included that holiday period.

I won't have an upgrade until May and am hoping the Aristo summer release is real, after all, this is a new RIM, and I want it. :-)

I'm a big fan of the qwerty phones from blackberry but i'm really thinking about getting a z10 after seeing the qewrty bb10 phone, not impressed with it. buttt i'd be pretty bummed to get a z10 and then have them release a much better qwerty phone.

I wouldn't hold off for the Aristo. That was based off an old release schedule, who even knows when or if that is going to come.
That aside, do you really even need the extra horsepower with this platform? Not from what I have seen in the latest builds.

I would highly recommend you at least try a z10 in the shops, I have been a qwerty blackberry user for over a decade and was very happy with the vkb when i tried it.

Yah I'm really open to it. I've been really anti touchscreen but with it being a bit wider than an iphone in portrait position, it might be easy to type on. i really have zero touchscreen typing experience though. bb10 os just seems like it's really meant to be on a full touchscreen with all that screen real estate.
