Like how they did on the PlayBook? Why didn't they pursue this? Though not really functional it would be a neat feature when showing off my phone to friends.

Currently there is no implementation like that..... It is something I was wondering from time to time.

It would most certainly just be used for this one single purpose (showing off) hence I believe it will not come.....

I doubt it. It made at least a little bit of sense on the PlayBook, since the 'active frames' on the PlayBook were quite large compared to those on the Z10 or even Z30, let alone the Q10/Q5. Plus, they have many, many higher-priority things to go through before they can pursue something like this.

I miss this feature a lot actually. I would have movies playing in background and I could jump in and out of it while doing other stuff and still have audio going.

I currently do this on my z10 with youtube as that works
I downloaded an app called playback live, it was to do something like this but haven't tried it yet.
