Reading through some of the postings I see mixed opinions. To those of you using 10.2 or have knowledge of the coding, will it actually make more Android apps available to us, or just make them run better?
I have had my Z10 less than 2 weeks and ported over a few apps. One thing I noticed is that some of them seem to require the Android back arrow to navigate and the only way around that is to close the app and start over and move to the section you are trying to get to. The Motor Trend app was like that for me. Hoping some of this type of stuff would go away with 10.2 as I love the phone otherwise.

If the app requires ICS or JB to run, then it may run... although it's not a guarantee. BTW, there is a back gesture for the Android player

Also, swiping down from top will almost always expose a bottom bar with Back button.

Thanks to both of you. I did not know that.

The app situation will gradually improve. 10.2 won't really bring anything new to the table other than ported android apps nobody wanted anyway

Instagram? Are you sure? You appear to be at odds with the company's CEO who says he has no plans for a native BlackBerry app anytime soon.

With 10.2 we will no longer need the back gesture as they will have a native looking button always there docked on the bottom of the screen.

Lot's of Android Ports don't work well with Q10 because of the radically different aspect ratio.
And I'm ok with that because I find that "most" android ports kinda suck anyway

I don't think so. It was supposed to improve when android runtime was introduced on the pb & the z10. Why is 10.2 so special?

With current & previous OS's you can pin the bottom bar as well.

Swipe down from top, then tap Pin Bar at bottom. You can always re-hide it later by tapping Hide Bar in the same spot.
    (See screenshots below.)

This is on an app-by-app basis, not a global setting for all Android apps, which is good.
Just tested, and it seems to survive closing & re-opening the app. Unsure whether it would persist beyond a reboot though.

This information I already know but not what I meant. Moving forward with 10.2 with the Jelly Bean update they are trying to basically make Android Port applications well look more and feel more native. I cant seem to find the video of the BlackBerry rep's showing these features off in a dev conference but ill keep trying to look and see if I can find it. If I do ill be sure to post it. Basically they are planting it firm below the application we are running and it will stay there at all times. The button "Info" and "Bar or Hide Barb" are no longer going to be there. Now of course things going change until its release to the public. Im hoping I can find that video though as it will explain and show some nice goodies.
