My DSL modem died, and I picked up a new Netgear 7550. It came set for mixed WPA/WPA2, which worked on every device in the house except a HP Touchpad. AT&T suggested changing to WEP, which now works for everything except the Z10. It won't connect to the network unless I reboot the modem and toggle wifi on and off on the phone. Obviously I'd rather not have to do that every time I come home.

Any ideas how to correct this?

This might sound dumb, did you delete the network, and add it back again?

Get a usb wifi dongle for hp that supports WPA2

Does the router have separate guest access with a different login? If so, you can set your main wifi back to wpa and only put the touchpad on the guest network using wep. It won't have access to your network though.

What kind of wpa? Aes or tkip or? I've seen some devices not like the tkip and some not like aes. Whereas the BlackBerry stuff I have don't like wep.

That's good because I've you're going to use WEP you might as well turn encryption off.
