I've never ever received an ota update since I picked up z10 about 2 years back. Nor ive seen anybody else's thread for receiving it on the same model.

I have an unlocked z10 running 10.3.1.1565. Have been updating it with sachesi.

Must be your country, I have two z10 and both received ota 10.3.1.1779. Both unlocked and both with two different providers.

Where did you purchase your phone? (from a carrier, shopblackberry, amazon, etc.) What carrier are you on? What country are you in? These things affect when OTA updates get pushed to you.

I bought it unlocked from a local BlackBerry distributor in India. Carrier is not important in our country as most phones were sold unlocked.
I've seen many zeds receive ota but never for the stl100-2.

Can somebody explain this?

1. In India, STL100-1 is the model sold by BlackBerry distributors. So there's a good chance that your Z10 is a foreign phone (the distributor buys from abroad cheap and sold to you).

2. The carrier DOES matter, because the OTA is rolled out through them. You're not getting OTA because Indian carriers don't support STL100-2.

What you can do is, remove your sim card and then connect to WiFi and check for updates. This has worked for a friend of mine who bought STL100-2 over ebay India.
