    Hi you all BlackBerry lovers!

I've posted this new thread cause I would like to ask you something that is worrying me a little bit.

I am a very proud Q10 owner that is running OS 10.2..1.2977. I thought that with the official launch of the BlackBerry Passport the past 24th September, the new version of the OS (10.3) will be definitely released here in Europe. But weeks have passed and I am still waiting for the update. Reading some posts here at CrackBerry.com I have realised that this version has been released and what is more, at least in the other side of the Atlantic you are looking forward to the arrival of the new OS 10.3.1.

I've checked again and again from my Q10 the 'Check for updates' option, but still appearing the same message: 'You already have the most up to date version of the OS'. I also tried connecting the device to the computer and via BlackBerry Link, but once more, it didn't work out.

So, here is my question, do you know if I am doing something wrong? Is there a problem with my device?

I'm really looking forward to have the new OS version, cause there are some new features that I can't wait to try.

Well, that's all. Thank you in advance for your comments and answers.

    You have misunderstood some things.

10.3 has not been released for any previous devices (i.e. Q10, Q5, Z10, Z30, Z3). 10.3 is only available for Passport and Porsche Design P'9983.
10.3.1 will launched when the BB Classic releases. This might be November, but nothing is confirmed.

After Classic releases, 10.3.1 will release for other BB10 devices. However you must understand the rollout of any OS release to your device is controlled by your carrier. Your carrier could release an OS update right away, but may take longer to test or even wait for the next version to release. Don't worry too much though: Most carriers worldwide will release the first official 10.3.1 OS.

    BUT...
You can also use 10.3 now by downloading a "leaked" 10.3 OS and loading onto your device directly. This is what you have read about people using now. There are several leaked 10.3 versions, such as 10.3.0.1052, 10.3.0.1154, 10.3.0.1172, and even now 10.3.1.632.

10.2.1 (and 10.2.2) are the official updates. So no, pal, you didn't miss anything. You did read wrong though.

What's wrong is that you have much misinformation.
The 10.3 OS will NOT be released to any existing devices. The 10.3.1 OS will be released to existing BB10 devices after the Classic is released in November sometime (so they say).
If you want to try 10.3.1 now download and install the leak. A lot of us are running it and I personally find it to be excellent for my daily use.

First-gen BB10 devices won't be seeing 10.3, at least officially. Only the Passport is getting that. All BB10 devices will be getting 10.3.1 when it comes out in November with the launch of the Classic.

You can always go ahead and install a leak of 10.3 if you really want it for the interim. There's loads of information out there about how to do it.

Twice I tried to update my post with the cheerfull reply that I hoped to use and got returned an access denied. Then I try to update this post with a short version to get a "message too short" error.

Last attempt: 10.2.1/10.2.2(Germany) are the official versions. 10.3/10.3.1 are leaks.

    Ok,

Now I understand that I did missunderstand a lot of things. When you read in so many different places so many different things you don't know what to think.

Thank you very much for your explained answer.

No problem! I'm on here every day and I find it hard to keep up with everything.

But do consider trying out a leaked 10.3 build. I loaded 10.3.0.1154 just 10 days ago onto my Z30 and it almost feels like I have a new phone.
You can learn a lot more in our BB10 Leaked/Beta OS Forum, even if you just want to read more and not do it yourself:
    BB10 Leaked/Beta OS - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

Here's the instructions for one method of updating your OS:
    http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...loader-927076/
Read very carefully as this method wipes your device, so you must make a Backup first using Link if you wish to restore any of your apps and/or info after loading the OS update.

Here's the thread where you can download 10.3.0.1154 if you want to try that one:
