This comes because the C programming language has an internal data type for variables which just counts seconds since January 1st 1970 00:00:00 UTC in a signed 32bit integer. Variables of this type will overflow on January 19th 2038 03:14:07 UTC and restart their counting again in 1901. The problem is desribed here.

By that date Chen will be saying that Android has not so many apps, and that his goal is to take care of security for enterprises. So there will be a new OS called Chen OS!! Jolla will be the main competitor of Apple, Lol!

The Bold 9900 calendar goes to 9999.

I guess OS 7 will outlive BlackBerry 10.

Maybe. But I think you will not successfully reach a calendar event configured in 9999 without some hundred new accus.

In Halberstadt (Germany) they have an art project: they play a piece of organ music over a time range of about 600 years, one single piece, every few years they change the frequency because otherwise it would be boring. Send them your Bold, perhaps they also do the charging cycles and all that for you.
