With people saying that the lack of a Starbucks app is keeping them away from bb10, I have to wonder if they realize they can just use a card to do the same thing.

I mean, if Netflix could be solved by simply getting a plastic card, we would not have any app problem
The lack of a Starbucks app is very minor in my opinion, though I still hope they will make a native app.

Actually, I sideloaded it too.
My point being that if only other missing apps could simply be replaced by a free plastic card.

I don't understand the point you're trying to make. How does a Netflix card replace the app?

And frankly the sideloaded Android Netflix app runs like crap.

It's kind of a joke. Of course you can't replace netflix with a card. But you can replace the Starbucks app with a Starbucks card. In other words, it is silly that someone would ignore the platform due to the lack of a Starbucks app.
