Unless things have changed, all it takes is for one carrier to release it, not necessarily your carrier. [Well I wouldn't try CDMA on a GSM.] Or does the deletion of vendor.xml not work anymore?

Im not sure they will release 10.1 anymore 10.1 was pretty muchf for the Q.10

Considering there are beta 10.1 builds out and a dev said they are already working on 11 build.I dont know what 10.1 update we will get but it will be good based on some screenshots i have seen.Im pretty certain by blackberry live event we will get a big update for everyone.

Of course they're working on 11 (and probably have been for quite some time). That's how development works. At the company I work for (won't say which, but it is featured quite often on Mobile Nations), we begin receiving prototype devices for testing about 6-8 months before they get announced, on average. New platforms have an even longer development cycle.

Since 10.1 is really only an incremental upgrade, BBRY has probably moved most of their development resources over to the 11 release at this point. I would expect that the next flagship is being developed hand in hand with BB11.

[HotFix]

The cut off for developers to opt-out of having their Z10 apps from being published on the app store as Q10 compatible (I think BlackBerry might even be willing to tweak the code) is 5/15/2013. So I suspect the official 10.1 will be sometime around there.

I also got the update to 10.1.0.264 pushed to my device as a part of the BETA test group today, and the notes on it are as follows:
"This software update includes new features and improvements which enhance the BlackBerry 10 experience and keep you moving! For more details on what you will find in this software update, please visit http://blogs.blackberry.com/2013/05/...ry-10-1-update"
The link isn't working for me yet but I suspect that will be the place to keep checking for an official update.

This is weird, because I talked to a vzw rep and they told me BlackBerry would be out of business before June and that I could install androids latest "Candy land 5.3.7" on my defunct z10 in August 2014. :-D
