    Seems whatsapp has overcome this limit!

    Wish bbm does the same.

    And plz someone explain to me why they dont?

    As far as I know, the only way to exceed the 16MB limit on WhatsApp is to root your device and edit one of the previously hidden xml files. Not exactly an approved procedure.

    But why is the limit?

    Is it for data traffic issues?

    Yes, traffic issues. There are more appropriate methods of sending large files. Dropbox and such.
