    WhatsApp on BlackBerry is updated by WhatsApp themselves. Facebook on BlackBerry is made by BlackBerry.

    Plus Facebook has only provided old, out of date APIs for BlackBerry to work with. Their hands are tied.

    To further add; in yesterday's Reddit AMA, Clewly stated that the lack of Hub integration on the Priv was because they have yet to obtain what ever APIs from which ever specific vendors in question. Yes, that was all about the Hub and the Priv but it is also relevant here, too, with BB10.

    Bottom line: no updates until Facebook gives them a new API.

    Because they build the apps for everyone else, and see no reason to do the extra work to satisfy BlackBerry.

    Because they don't want 3rd party apps to have a better user experience taking away from their data mining.

    I don't see how it limits Facebook's ability to mine your stuff - you're still putting things on Facebook.

    You'd be surprised at how much they mine from the client - dwell times, for example, messages that have been drafted and never posted, number of spelling corrections made etc.

    You can use the mobile site (m.facebook.com) from your browser. I find it pretty much as good as using the app on my iPad.
