The default BlackBerry map app worked reasonably well for when i had to drive.

However, I am visiting a new city right now, and I needed direction using the public transit. Since BlackBerry map does not do that, I had to use the Windows 8.1 default map app by Bing beforehand which gave me the public transit direction.

I have snap, and have Google map installed by I would rather use a native BlackBerry map app.

Any suggestions? I would like support for public transportation in the navigation as well.

If you have a working version of Google Maps... I'd use that. There aren't that many mapping platforms out there, just a bunch of different apps that provide a little packaging to make theirs seem different.

Personally I don't trust BlackBerry Maps in town, I sure wouldn't use it in an area I'm not familiar with. Just went on a trip and had printed out the details of the trip... but I tried a few times with BlackBerry Maps. Most were pretty good, but I got a coupe of drive down the street another block and then do a u-trun and come back to your destinations. And one it wanted me to go the next exit off of the interstate and the take back roads to get to the hotel.... would have been an additional 30 Mins to my trip.

Did use Navfree once and it worked OK... but one of the updated broke it for me, and I just didn't bother checking later to see if it works.

For navigation I use "Mireo Don't Panic". Brought me through Western Europe without any problems. Doesn't use any data. I was honestley impressed, especcially if you compare the price with a stand alone nav-device.

Would google maps via the browser work for what you need?

I recently used it for walking directions.

I use the BlackBerry Maps & "BeMaps Pro" which is a native app that's powered by Google maps.

What I would really like to see is Nokia Here maps on BB10

The here maps work through the browser. The url is m.here.com. It has transit and walking maps as well.

The Google Transit maps also work in the browser. I don't think the URL is all that easy to find. Try maps.google.com/intl/en/landing/transit.
