I am struggling a bit with making and reading NFC tags and QR codes for my contact info, using the smarttag app that comes with BB10.

Functionally I have no problems, but it looks like my Z30 does not parse UTF8, from the vcards that it itself created, leaving me with those typical two-byte codes in plain US ASCII, where I'd expect some umlauts.

Has anybody else had this problem and found a solution? Is the importer simply falling short here? Are contact tags stored in .vcf format somewhere where they can be accessed and edited by the user, prior to being shared (in one form or other)? (E.g: Trying to change character encoding to Latin-1, and see whether that helps.)

I guess I'll try to find and accost some users of a couple of other platforms, to see whether my tags/QR:s come up properly on their phones. :P (I.e: I suppose it could be that failure is at the export stage, rather than import...)
