    Is there a way to use the desktop for internet, without going over wifi? there is none in the building. it sounds like an easy thing but i cant figure it out.

    ya.. we sit out in the open with desks next to each other i would like to be able to surf, bank or whatever without the looky lews. i know it sounds weird but its easier then turning the whole set up around.

    There are ways to turn your laptop into a wifi hotspot, provided you are getting internet via ethernet. You'd have to search on the how to, though.

    I'm not sure there is anyway to do that without wifi. Most of the stuff does the opposite making your phone the access point not the computer.

    Legacy BlackBerry smartphones could use what was called wireless bypass. This predates Wi - Fi and required BlackBerry Desktop Manager software installed on the PC. I have not seen any indication that wireless bypass is available on BB10. Since the factors that gave rise to it all those years ago are no longer in play I don't see it being included in the future.

    You probably can't turn your workstation into a hotspot either. I don't know if there is a way to do thru bluetooth or not but then you workstation would need that too.

    There is a thread around here somewhere that explains how that can be done, it requires some software and that the computer is not using the wifi hardware, but it must be enabled. I just can't pull enough courage to search...
