My apologies if this has already been asked.

I'm currently on 10.3.2.2848 (z30). I got a notification to update to 10.3.3.1463. I remember reading a few times here that some people experienced problems with 10.3.3. Should I update or stay on 10.3.2? I don't care about these 'certification' features that they have added, but maybe there is something else that has been added that's worth updating for.

It doesn't feel much different. You could hold off until something you want doesn't work and find it works under 10.3.3.x in the forums.

^^^ Interesting. Which build is this? I'm on Software Release 10.3.3.1435, OS Version 10.3.3.2163 and I haven't experienced the setting screen going blank.

Wow, you're fast on the update. I looked up the "live links" thread and it was only posted six days ago.

The conclusion of the thread was that Software Release 10.3.3.1463 has been pulled due to problems like you're encountering.

    OP, don't update yet.

Only issue I have is that there probably won't be any more BB10 update. Resigned to going BlackDroid.

10.3.3.2205 (build date Dec12) went live on Jan24.

I have it on all my BB10 devices. Had to wipe a couple of them again due to black settings. No issues since.

I'd still use the OS version (2205) instead of the software revision (1463). The latter means nothing really.

madh263362 reported that the settings were black on his Z30, though his is a -2, not a -5, like mine. The OP has a Z30 as well. Is it likely that our Z30's will be affected and we'll have to do a wipe to fix? Is the bug limited to certain models, like Z30's? Or random?

It sounded like on the "live links" thread that this version was pulled? Or is it good to go, though perhaps needing the wipe?

This happened on 2 of my Z30s. I don't know if it's just limited to that device.

I will add that both were originally clean installs with an autoloader. I had to wipe them again.

All of my family's BlackBerry OS 10 devices are updated to 10.3.3.2205. We have three Z10's, two Q10's and one Z30. All received the updates OTA via WiFi with Verizon as our carrier.

Only the Z30 has crashed. The first crash was about three weeks after the OTA update. The second crash occurred last week, less than a week after an autoloader installation.

Both times after the crashes the following oddities were noted:

    1. No settings screen via quick settings screen or home screen icon.

    2. Quick settings will not allow you to turn on or off the following icons

    A. Mobile Network

    B. Airplane Mode

    C. Wi-Fi

    3. The following Apps failed to open:

    A. Password Keeper

    B. Blackberry World

    C. Assistance

    4. Windows XP and 10 computers failed to recognize the flash and SD hard drives. Both Link and Blend failed to access the handset drives.

The Z30 has been reloaded since the 24th of March via an autoloader. I purposely allowed the battery to drop down to zero percent and shutdown the handset. After charging for 10 minutes I started it up and it worked flawlessly.

The problem I have is in both areas, in the About screen and the software update notification, it lists only the Software Version, so I go with the information that is available. It would be nice if it listed both, Software and OS, but it doesn't, at least no in the screens I described on my z30

What's the process of wiping without losing apps-settngs-data? Back up via Link, load new OS, factory reset, reload from backup?

Don't bother, backup via link is broken in the update and battery drains faster.

I was on the fence until your comment ^, but I think I've decided not to update. I needed my second cup of coffee to approach this rationally:

A - there is nothing wrong with my phone now.
    B - 10.3.3 offers nothing new that I need/want
    C - Don't fix it if it isn't broken

    One more question:

How do I disable the "there is a new version available...do you want to update" notification that I get daily? I don't want to update, and I don't want it asking me daily if I want to update. I've already disabled the "Automatically download and install software updates" option. Is there another setting to kill the update nag?
