I'm running the latest OS on my Z10 (10.2.1.1925) but have been having this problem since 10.2.0.x.

My universal search works, but does not store history despite it being on in the settings, except for one search I did a long time ago. I also can't change any of the search settings or orders. Any changes I make, including turning off search history, reverts back to the previous settings the next time I go back to them. Deleting the history does not delete my one stored search.

I have tried holding down both volume buttons to do a reset, and I have also tried shutting down the phone and removing the battery for a while, but the problem persists.

I did have custom search engines in the Web browser, but I read a suggestion on another forum that resetting the browser search engines fixed the guy's universal search problem. Tried this, and it didn't work for me.

Anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to have to reload the OS as this problem existed in my prior OS as well.

You mean you're on the latest OS for your carrier, no? 10.2.1.2102 (10.2.1.2141) is already out.

Here is what I would do (in this order):

1. Update the OS with Sachesi and see if it works properly then;
2. Cleaning search history, reboot the device by holding the top buttom;
3. Wipe and start fresh.

I hope you don't need to go #3. Good luck!

Oh! I didn't know there was another release already. Perhaps I'll wait until Telus updates to the latest OS. Odd that they haven't released it yet.
