Currently running Uber v3.40.3. This is several months old now; downloaded via Snap. I have not downloaded any updates because it works pretty well and I know some newer updates had issues. Does anyone know if the latest version of Uber will run properly, or should I continue to avoid updates?

Update: I've been using m.uber.com with good results until last week when I started receiving the message attached that said, "Access to m.uber.com not authorized. Please download the latest version of the app to request a ride."
I contacted Uber support and asked them to authorize this phone number. The mobile site has been working consistently since then. In case that is helpful for anyone out there...

The new version of the Uber app requires Google Play Services. It can be done using Cobalt's method, but frankly the mobile site is just as good.

Mobile site is absolutely not just as good. Not by any means. This is a classic BB10 myth.

However, it is sufficient.

I'm not an Uber person myself, but my iPhone buddy said he preferred the mobile site himself - that's what I was basing that comment on.

Anyhow, I also said you can install the app using Cobalt's method, so I'm not attempting to deceive anyone.

I've used the website to get a ride visiting twin cities, MN. I got the ride, paid, posted review of driver all in the Web app. Works for me.

Not to complain. I appreciate fully, the efforts of guys like Cobalt.

That said, did anyone else find it confusing trying to set up Google play services via Cobalt method. Not saying it should be easy...but wondering if should give it another try. Ran into a few problems first go around then said F it.

You cannot input your destination in the mobile website once you're in the car, for one.
