    Default Too many animations

A BlackBerry is supposed to excel at efficiency. The animations in bb10 are not efficient. They waste a lot of time, confuse me, don't work uniformly and see me swiping and tapping far more than I would if there were a home key. At first I thought bb10 was an improvement on ios but it hasn't been tightened and polished and made hyper simple.

Some easy ideas so improve bb10:

Lose the open app tile. It's rarely ever useful and gets in the way.

One gesture to close apps. Not two. A longer swipe up?

Cascades made uniform and easier to use. They're chaotic at the moment.

Lose the priority hub. The pinch gesture does what it does. Yet it takes up space.

Keep the hub cascade set to the top rather than requiring me to go find what I want to look at with a swipe. So annoying.

I would disagree, it is very useful for me to be able to jump from the Twitter App, to the Browser, and then into a game I am playing.
Without the open app tiles, I would have to constantly keep looking for the app I want in the app drawer.

How about all the swiping, keyboard animations, screen resizing and other over the topness that comes with text messaging?

Yeah, I have no idea what you're talking about. There's a txt message icon if you don't like swiping, keyboard animations? I really don't know what you mean by that, my keyboard is not animated in any way other than the predictive txt, that can also be shut off if you don't like it, but I do, and what exactly resizes? When the keyboard pops up? It has to resize or you wouldn't be able to read it?

I would like a gesture to completely close apps rather than minimize, having to swipe then hit the x is kind of annoying. But at least you know whats running, my GF always complains that her iPhone is running really slow and I find out she has 800 apps running.

Do you complain about walking too? Does that take too long? Want moving side walks? Does peeing some times take too long too? What else takes too long? Tell me more about how unsatisfied you are

He paid for technology that is supposed to work for him. When it gets the other way around he has the right to make suggestions how to improve it. Don't you agree?

I agree on most of your points. Especially the active frames. To me they are purely useless and I feel like I'm not the only one that thinks that way. What also annoys me is that when opening an app from its icon, it jumps to the active frames screen first before maximizing the app. That's just unnecessary.

If they ditched the active frames they could actually show a list of running apps if the user swiped up and to the left (up and right takes you to the hub)

Yup. Reduce the animations. Used to run BBOS without a theme for fun back then. Lightning fast. I dislike transitions, prob one of the top reasons I am *nix + lightweight WM all the way on the desktop. Apps launch without fuss and fanfare and are minimized and closed with single-key bindings. BlackBerry 10 annoys me because I am usually two steps ahead and have to wait for the OS. Just fractions of a second no matter the operation (except typing). Those fractions add up. Hoping the next iteration of the Q solves this.

This is a modern UI that the BB10 is using, without animation it would be ugly as hell!

If you don't want animation then I don't think you will find a phone that does this, even Apple has animation, OP.

Animation is an illusion, I know apple added animation to mask loading times, it gives the illusion of faster loading time. I am sire BlackBerry are doing the same

On an iPhone you have a maximizing-app-animation. On my Z10 I have two animations when opening an app: going to the active frames screen and then maximizing the app. Why?

Being two steps ahead of the OS and than having to wait is exactly what I feel like sometimes. The OS is just not keeping up with me sometimes.

I love the animations. They excite me. Just that sometimes they are laggy, and that kills the beauty of it

    Here do this.
Click the magnifying glass "search" button. Then type tutorials. Then learn more about BB10.

    It's not college calculus.

Right. But you are still wrong. Because nobody hear understands what lack luster problems you are having with these animations. They are not the best most disorienting animations by far. And act fast.

Most of the "annoyances" OP is talking about are options you can change. As for the active frames, some people like it and others may not. Personally I like it cos there are things I do faster that way. My only wish is that implementation could have been more like the Playbook OS. I think that approach was more efficient. Thing is every OS is made for lots of people so there are things you are going to like and others you might hate, which is why you pick the OS that best suits your needs.

I pretty much use my search function for everything now instead of looking for apps.
Wanna call somebody? Just type "call" and then their name.
Wanna text somebody? Just type "text" and then their name.
Wanna email? Just type "mail" and search for the email address.
Wanna post a facebook status? Type "facebook" space and then type anything you want.
Wanna post a twitter? Type "twitter" space and then type anything.

Those are the things I know so far. I'm pretty sure there are more shortcuts for the search function.
