    I do a lot of buying/selling on craigslist and I really don't feel it's necessary to create a new contact for someone I'm most likely never going to see again. On older OS's all you had to do was type the number on the call screen, hit the menu button, then select "Text (555)555-1234" and away you went. Now I have to add - then delete - the contact every time.

    I am sorry but I chuckled when I read that you were adding them into contacts so you could text

    But here is a wrinkle. To send a second message, you need to have that number handy, like written down, or memorized. You cannot expect to see that number in the list of proposed numbers once you start typing it.

    If you find the original text message in your messaging history, you can continue that "conversation" without re-typing that number.
