I was wondering if there was a way I could connect my Z10 to my work or school computer and access the files on it without using the Blackberry Link software. Every time I plug my Z10 into a different PC it asks me to download the Blackberry Link software, does anyone know a way around this?

Enable Mass Storage Mode. Should do the trick, but you get SD card only. No internal memory access.

Settings > Storage and Access > Access using Wi-Fi = On

Then both your device storage and SD card will be accessible as remote Windows shares on whatever LAN you're on...

Such lovely off topic posts. lol

So, OP, if you for for network mapping:

    Internal Memory: \\device name\media or \\device IP\media
    SD Card: \\device name\removable_SDCARD or \\device IP\removable_SDCARD

If you have to enable WiFi access on Settings > Storage and set up a password foor that (username is blackberry).

Well it depends what you're trying to do. If it's transferring stuff there's email or Dropbox ( or equivalent) . When you plug it into your computer you can use remote drives. You can take your sd card out and slot it into your computer.

Not sure what else you want to do

    Hi there,

When you first connect your z10 there you get to browse some installation folders, inside that there is a installation file for BlackBerry device manager only.

Install only the BlackBerry device manager file and you will get acess to all stuffs without have to use BlackBerry Link.

Iam also a z10 user and I don't use link.

Internal storage is also accessible as I don't have sd card.

Soviet, yes you can access the internal memory and sd card memory from your phone on a Windows computer the same way you access any other drives that you plug in to a usb port.

1- plug in your phone to a usb port on your computer. Wait until your computer lets you know it has connected to your BlackBerry. (It takes up to a minute or two)
    2- click on "Start"
3- click on "My Computer "
4- double click on either the "sd card"
or the "flash" (internal memory) which are usually designated by a "Y" or a "Z" drive in the My Computer folder.

I have BlackBerry Link installed but I don't want to run it every time I want to mount my BlackBerry's drives because it's so huge and slow.

When I try to launch RIMDeviceManager or VolumeMountProxy directly, it doesn't actually mount the drives (regular storage and SD card)

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks!
