In the last 3 weeks both my 2 year old z10 and my dad's 18 month old Q10 have both died. The timing is suspiciously close to the launch of the Priv. Both just died one day and would not start.
Has anyone heard of an increase in BB10 devices dying?

Were they used before you guys got them? Maybe the previous owners put in a lot of work on them.

My Verizon Z10 purchased at launch works perfectly. I guess any electronic device can die at anytime though.

Probably just a coincidence man. There would be more such stories on CB if BlackBerry were willingly killing people's devices.

I'm pretty sure that would be a criminal offense in most developed countries with any kind of consumer protection regulations.

My Z10 from launch is still great.

I wouldn't know anything about that, but I can see things like that happening. Hell, companies now program their stuff to die at a certain date and people think that is normal now. So why not willingly killing a few devices. Still don't think that's the case though.

My white z10 is working awesome. Probably buy a new battery but with Colbalt I am able to use the few apps that I need from Android.

That way it's perfect for me and I am not in need of a new phone.

My carrier has amazing LTE speeds and I rarely out of the LTE coverage.

What products are programmed to die at a certain date? Citation please.

Had a Z10 "die" a couple months ago. Figured it was a RAM issue.

I think equating planned obsolescence to "programmed to die" is reaching. But hey whatever floats your boat.
