On my previous (Android) phone, in "settings" there was a data usage monitor that showed a graph of the mobile-data used by my phone during the current billing cycle. Is there a similar function somewhere in the settings, or a good app that will do this? I'm using a "Classic".

The device monitor will do it. Swipe down from the home screen

I'm the OP, apparently the "no registration required" business is baloney.

Sorry but I just spent close to an hour listening to Verizon tech support tell me they couldn't find it either.

I bought "Usage Pro" and got ripped off imo, it has the wrong billing-cycle date and no obvious way to change it to what it has always been. On top of that the "contact developer" menu takes me to a missing web page complete with message about site having errors in it.

Thanks for the attempt to help though, if I had some carrier other than Verizon it would probably be right there in the device-manager with the other stuff, but it simply is not there.

With my Android phone cyanogenmod was an option, is there some way to install an alternative system that Verizon isn't jerking around?

Built in device manager will do exactly what you are stating, with adjustable dates. Can verizon even change the OS that much to remove a whole feature? It's not an app, it's part of the OS as long as you are on a recent release.

I have unlimited data but put the 25gb cap just to show the adjustable limit.

mad_mdx and -Puck- are both right. The Mobile (and even Wi-Fi) usage are built-in the OS. Open the Device Monitor from the (quick) settings.

Go into Settings and then Quick Settings and make sure it's ticked. If it isn't then it won't show up in the quick settings dropdown.

I know about Device Monitor. I'm saying that what's inside Dev Mon, there's no data usage feature

You have 10.3.2 and no Mobile Data in your Device Monitor side panel ?

I think OP is right, I believe Verizon kills the data counter.

I think I've seen other people around here saying the same.

WOW I can't believe that. It's bad enough that you have a data cap, but you can't even tell how close you are to it because they hide that from you???

Rogers allows me to check using Device Monitor but if I wanna be extremely accurate and view it on their site or using their app the website is down half the time. I dunno what's worse. Having the ability to track data usage but having it not work half the time or knowing that you can't track your usage period.

I use Data Usage Counter app I got from BlackBerry World. I have used it since I have had my Z10 and it works very well. I think it is $1.99.

Verizon had their own app installed on their devices for U to check data usage. It even allows you to notify yourself if you have reached your user defined threshold like say 50%, 75%.
