TELUS has sent out BB10 training(Confirmed by service rep)
I'm just in from a visit with my local TELUS Mobility store, where i spent two hours talking to the rep there. She said that she has received training on BB10, and that when she used it the first thing she thought of was her iPhone. She said that that was how the device felt to her. Naturally she couldn't go into details, but she said the one she used had rounded corners(i asked this just out of curiousity) and it felt great in her hand.
She was a long time BlackBerry user, ending at her 9700 which her boss forced her out of. She was forced into using an iPhone 4, when they were first released, and she says that she hates it and can't wait for BlackBerry 10. She went as far to say that no, they had not received the devices yet, but if they did she would be taking advantage of them at every given opportunity.
We were both in agreement that the fate of RIM will be largely dependent on just how soon afte rJan. 30th the devices were available for consumers. Unfortunately the store that she works at has a policy to not sell devices outright, so i would have to travel to the next closest store, which is 100km+ away.(62mi +) but would undoubtedly do that if need be.
Glad to see that while a bit late to the party in Canada, TELUS has definitely gotten their butts in gear and are going full force towards BlackBerry 10. Can't wait for releaseDevice(s):Curve 9300>Bold 9700>Z10>Samsung Galaxy Note 2

you read correctly, its a secondary store not a main store and every few weeks people from the main store drop by, I know because I've been there when they show up, usually a person or two with the TELUS, logo on their shirt and a few discrete boxes. I remember from the iPhone 5 launch time. I spend a fair amount of time there as its close to my college and a coffee shop.

This is amazing! i've been sitting here for the past couple hours debating on whether i should comment about the conversation i had with my Local Telus Rep. I've know this Rep for the better part of 10 years, and i've purchased 5 BBs from her. She was able to tell me, that she's already under gone training, has played with the device and she found it to be incredibly fast. She mentioned that it took her a little to get use to the gestures but once she had it down it was smooth there after. We left it at that, i had several questions, but i knew she couldn't answer them, heck she flat out said that she wasn't aloud to show it to me. I've been pumped every since.

I got answers to all of the questions i asked, luckily. An old lady actually walked in(55+, sorry if i offend anyone) while we were talking and got a contract for an iPhone 5, she had her granddaughter(who i actually went to high school with) with her, who spent the time she wasn't setting up the Apple ID BBMing and sms messaging various people on ther 9800, just thought it was funny.

Nice, i figured i wouldn't pry to much, i respect that Rep to much to risk anything (if anything could actually happen to her). As i'm writing this i figured, why not wait a few more days anyways and not take away from the big reveal on the 30TH.
The way i see it is, there's a device (maybe more - didn't get that far) already on hand in the store. Training is done. to me, it would only make sense that WE THE PEOPLE, 'should' be able to purchase shortly after the 30th. - 01-16-2013, 04:01 PM

I also didn't ask all the questions I wanted to, for much the same reason. She agreed that if we don't get the device almost immediately after launch it will kill all the excitement. much like me she can't use a GS3 because its just too wide but she had no issues with the size of the L-Series(z10)
Forgot to mention that she said that a lot of people had been coming in asking about it. The fact that i always put the in-store PlayBook on the BB10 demos might help a bit. as long as there's a device for me.Last edited by bmercer94; 01-16-2013 at 04:13 PM.
