I've just had the strangest thing happen..

My wife has a BlackBerry Classic and was next to me and was playing a youtube video of Elmo for our son to watch. I wanted to take a picture of him, so to get his attention she brought her phone close to mine so he would look in the same direction as her phone so I can take the picture of his face with my device (BlackBerry Classic).

Now this is where it gets strange, when I was in the camera app and she brought her phone close to mine, our phones both vibrated and I got the following pop up on my screen:



It's was a share of the link via NFC, which we both have on. BUT, she did not initiate a share of the link with me!

When we tried to recreate the phenomenon, we noted that it only happened when I was in the camera app! Please give a try if ya can.

Is this a new feature or a bug?

I tried it with my Passport and my Z10. I enabled NFC on both devices, played a youtube video on Passport, I put the devices back to back and it shared the link only with the camera app open on my Z10.

I've just tried another experiment..

This time, a photo was being viewed on one Classic and the other had the camera app open. As before, when the one with the photo viewing came close to the one in the camera app, the picture was shared via NFC!!

Wow, talk of a bug.

I think the camera is like a shortcut for the share option for the phone you receive the file or link on.
