[Speculation] AT&T and QNX c(RIM) close to doing a deal?

Not sure what kind of "deal" you're seeing here. As part of their Developer Summit, AT&T is hosting a variety of sessions and bringing in different partners for the discussion. QNX is taking part, as is Airbiquity and Nissan. Standard stuff, nothing unusual there.

If you look further at the schedule, you'll see that there are developer sessions devoted to Windows Phone 8 and, yes, BB10, but these don't really imply any special relationship, either.

I'm not sure what you mean by "doing a deal", it's some sort of developers conference/summit from AT&T. Several other industry "names" are also on the docket. Can you clarify what you mean?

The vision of AT&T is “Connecting you to your world, everywhere you live and work.” In addition to connecting our customers to these destinations, we are now committed to enhancing the experience of their journey.(these are AT&T Words directly in regards to Navigating The Connected Vehicle Vision, has nothing to do with anybody except QNX and speaking to such)

" we are now committed to enhancing the experience of their JOURNEY"

Journey = vehicle

Vehicle = QNX

QNX = RIM

Not sure why I had to spell this out, thought others would catch on, ~~as QNX recently did a deal with another carrier.~~ Oops, spoke too soon.

Well that's a good thing, thanks for pointing that out, as Airbiquity and QNX have partnership agreements as does Nissan and QNX.

Funny how this thread was created yesterday out of pure Speculation and then Today we hear about ATT and QNX so yeah I would say that IS the deal. THIS is So amazingly Awesome...now to only figure out which car manufacturers have this NOW.

Thought for sure you would be happy to hear that for QNX(RIM).

In regards to the "Did you read 19Ghostrider71 thread yet, more good news for QNX(RIM)" , it CLEARLY states "more good news", not sure what the issue is.

Anyways, thanks to you and Thunderbuck for sharing your thoughts, always love to hear what some of the "vets" have to say, as I'm sure others reading do also.

Then I'm sure you are pleased with the AT&T / QNX (RIM) news this morning.

I'll be sure to think of you as a "vet" also, perhaps a date beside ones avatar would simplify that, as you rightfully point out post count is not always a measure.

Back in Aug 2012:
Standards and building mobile apps — will it come? You need standards if you want to build an app platform that will promote application creation and adoption. That's what we're doing with the QNX CAR 2 application platform — creating a way for someone other than the car companies to join the ecosystem and to deploy their apps to the car in a controlled way. But don't forget, you need a standard way to deploy apps for the cloud half of the recognition, too.

Setting the "standards" is oh so sweet!

What's breathtaking is how this is all getting done under the radar so to speak, all eyeballs on BB10 and perhaps missing the big picture how everything WILL tie in. Exciting revelations ahead for QNX/RIM.
