... and I connected to the in flight wifi for free (thanks BlackBerry!). I wanted to tether to my laptop, but the phone bypasses all connected networks to tether from a cell connection.

Does anyone know how to change this? I don't want to tinker in the escreens and break something.

I don't think you'll be able to. Don't know for sure, but it's a safe bet you can't.

I guess you have to pay for wifi on your laptop during the flight?

This is how you CB10, son!

That's what I'm thinking. I was hoping there wad a switch in the screen for bypassing the cell connection.

I don't think that the hardware is able to connect to a hot spot and be a hot spot at the same time.

I intended to use wifi for network access, and bluetooth/usb to tether. I ended up spoofing my User Agent in Chrome to get free wifi on my laptop. :-P
