When will Snap v3 come out of beta? There has not been any news or updates for several months.

I think that since Cobalt has Google play working so well, there probably isn't much demand for it.I don't even have it on my phone anymore.

Way to kill native development with trashy Google ports that drain your battery.

I prefer snap because it also downloaded and saved the apk which allows me to then transfer it to my other phone to install.

My other phone is a work phone and I don't want to start messing it up by installing patched apps and what not.

Why would that be an advantage?

Play Store saves downloaded apk files to the downloads folder, even the ones that you have purchased.

Play Store even has the option to NOT download an apk. Then you don't even have to bother about deleting

You know the entire purpose of Snap was to emulate Google Play to the last dot, right? It wasn't trying to be anything else. Now, you can do that WITH the actual OG, Google Play!

I think people just want to encourage bb10 development, and I get that, but in this case, it's better to just use the original.

Beating it up to make it decompose faster :-). Lol just playing. I just hope next Google Play update all the rest of the android apps can run properly. But until then I only have like 7 APK files DL'd so no biggie or complaints here.

James did a fantastic job with providing Snap. His motivation is the same as I have: To bring the best experience to our BlackBerry's in term of supporting Android apps.

Unfortunately, native development could never really take off. Fixing the Google stuff was a logical step to enhance our beloved devices.

If BlackBerry would only provide root access, we could have best of both worlds.

I even donated to Snap when it was out, it made dreams come true, give hope to the new runtime. But times move forward, and so should everyone.

No point in continuing something that has lived it's time. I don't hear anyone crying over apk2bar after we got apk support, and I think James did what was needed to finally fix the essentials of Snap to keep it a mature and stable app for a long time.
