This is when I REALLY feel like throwing the BB against the wall and buying an iPhone.
(I'm a BB user of 7+ years).

I updated my Q10 with the prompted 10.0.?? Verizon update tonight and it took a LONG time to download (with Wifi).
Finally, when it restarted, it would not get past 99%. Gave it 20+ minutes each time.
Finally, I read that taking out the SIM fixes this and then replacing it.

When I finally got the phone on, my icons were all moved around and ALL my SMS messages were deleted!
What a joke! Is there anyway to get them back?

Did you backup with BlackBerry Link before you updated? If you did (and should have done), you should be able to restore them fine. Otherwise I think you're out of luck. The same thing happened to me when I did an OTA update back in August. Luckily I had only had my phone for a couple weeks so I didn't have a very large history yet.

No I did not - I definitely should have done that, but still - how ridiculous of them to release such an unstable update.
