    So now that it's out...

Is there Skype?? Even Skype chat will do for me, I need my messenger now that Live Messenger is dead.

    Total dealbreaker for me.

They announced skype during the launch today. Actually I watched the event again tonight and if you watch that part with the BBM video and share screen you can see the skype icon on the z10

Announced does not exactly mean available. 'Cause it isn't available right now.

Lol okay but it's coming might not be tomorrow or maybe not a week but it's coming. I saw the icon you can also watch again and see for yourself

    Yeah, I also saw a Q10 and I can't get that either.
Yes, I saw the icon. They didn't have a "Coming Soon" sign.

Do you know WHEN it is coming? Frankly I don't care as I don't use Skype. But the fact remains the Z10 was released today, the Skype icon was shown, but it is not available.

Well Amazon kindle is available yet either but it will probably be out tommorow when the first phones are bought in the UK.

That's right - and that is an app I use quite a bit.
Guess they needed a "Coming Soon" label.

They outright said Skype is on board, loud and clear. This is not an assumption based on an icon. It is there.

on board means what? talking about it? in development? available on release? I believe they said committed. but committed to what? if they were committed to it being on the device, it would be on the device already. they are committed to bringing it to the device? when?

It is not "there". All we know is that Skype is commited to being "there". A little too open ended for me. I'm not a developer but from what I've been led to believe is that writing for BB10 is so easy. Surely even if Skype even just "commited" yesterday, somebody would be able to ballpark a date, no?
